Wahconah Refurbishing Auditorium Seats Project
WHY are we doing this?
Wahconah Regional High
School was built almost 50 years ago, and all of the seating in the auditorium
is original. Consideration was given to purchasing all new seats; however,
since coding laws have changed, the result would have been a considerable loss
of seating capacity. Additionally, thought was given to maximizing the
cost-effectiveness of this project. Therefore, the decision to refurbish,
rather than totally replace the seating, was made.
WHAT is involved in the refurbishing process?
Each of the auditorium seats
will be removed, shipped to the factory, stripped, primed, repainted, armrests
refinished, cushions replaced, new mechanisms installed and seats
reupholstered. In a word, A Total Makeover!
HOW can you help?
Through a tax deductible donation of
$250, the total refurbishing cost per seat, you have the opportunity to make a
memorial or dedication gift to celebrate the life or contributions to the
community of a friend, loved one, or corporation. Memorial and dedication
plaques listing the donors' names, as well as the names of those being honored,
will be publicly displayed on the wall in the WRHS main entryway. All other
donations, whether of a corporate, group, family or individual level, will be
acknowledged on the memorial wall.
WHEN do we plan to do this?
The WRASP capital campaign to
raise the necessary funding for the entire project will continue throughout the
2008-2010 school year. Actual seat refurbishing will commence in June, 2009 and June 2010. We
are confident that through your love of WRHS, pride in your community, and
generous financial support that WRASP IS WITHIN OUR GRASP.
This is a tax deductible donation.
